Louvre Abu Dhabi Experience

When I think of museum, I always imagine myself getting lost to tons of galleries but at the same time everything is clutter-free. Thinking of the whole idea of it seemed to be kind of farfetched - but when I finally had a chance to visit Louvre Abu Dhabi, I was astounded for two reasons, the "Rain of Light" and the minimalism without sacrificing the right amount of not only museum galleries, world-class exhibitions but also learning activities for all ages.

These shots can't be in real life or is it? Well, I had them like a dream especially upon entering the interior of the Floating Dome of Light and Shade. You know, I was thinking you can probably just point and shoot at any angle and still can produce a photo even without masterly skill on photography just like my shots. Haha! This light and shade or the "rain of light" concept is for me a drama while you walk your imagination toward a space - how can you not have a perfect manifestation here? I had, and a lot of it. Sir John Nouvel and his light as key inspiration for this museum is remarkable. His Architecture is explained here

The 3rd photo was the typical ceiling (and lighting) design for most of the museum exhibit. I was surprised. Why? Natural light. Natural light. Natural light. Passive design strategy - the inclusion of some percent of natural light is very clever. And I am sure this design is well thought-out as you can really never expose pieces of art exhibit to too much lighting. The 4th photo is not the best angle shot but my favorite part before entering the art exhibit because of its minimalism. The unornamented simple shape and clean lines and of course the natural lighting is a feast to my eyes. Another minimalist shot here taken when we're about to enter the museum.

Though my camera was always on point during my visit, at times I couldn't help but to put my camera down in my pocket and just enjoy the view.
