Life the past year (of pandemic) has been a biggest reminder that I’m growing older, especially when facing myself in the mirror and witness the greying of my hair getting visible day by day. Well, I had this at an early age because of genetics from my father’s.
Speaking of my father, he celebrated his birthday
yesterday in the Philippines. I remember vividly as a child he would always
tell us to fix our bed. He would even show us to fix the pillow like you are
playing cymbals. Haha. Anyway I was able to contact him and my mother thru a
video call and had some, as always, lengthy fun conversation of literally just
about anything we can talk about. As I watch them say goodbye it hit me really
hard that my parents were getting old – not physically old, because it’s not as
if they have become old all at once. But because my own life has been going
through so much (you know what I mean?). And this pandemic has been a
time-eating machine that making us grow through so much transition that most of
us working overseas failed to visit our parents and loved ones because of so
many obvious virus-related reasons.
I’m not sad, really. The weekly quality call is
always a priority to make sure I don’t waste my chance while they are still
both here with me even if I’m away. When someone asks me, whom I may identity a
hero, I don’t bear in mind Manny Pacquiao, err, or any childhood TV idol. I
believe that it’s my parents as most of us would declare.
Anyway life it too short to miss this opportunity
to visit J.A. Resort Hotel to somehow celebrate my father’s big day as well.
This hotel has an open atrium which houses some huge percent of the building.
If you are an avid reader of this blog, you would know that I am such a huge fan of natural lighting.
Here’s some dope ceiling in the buffet restaurant
area of the place.
Not very unique but the staff uniform matching the ceiling creates somewhat fluidity of the concept. I will have a part two (2) of this blog dedicated more to its interior (and some furniture) and exterior design of the building. I seriously got tons of photos earlier so watch out.
Anyway, happy birthday to one of my hero, Arnold.
I will see you soon!
