Stroll Along

For many people working abroad, probably every overseas Filipino workers (OFW) like me, the on-going pandemic is such a difficult time to navigate even the most obvious important things not to weary ourselves physically, emotionally and mentally.

While stress is normal, there are signs of extreme stress to be aware of. As for myself, withdrawing from others has to be addressed because by not doing so makes me dangerous even to myself, pun intended. Fortunately, I learned to reach out more; I’m learning and relearning; if I can get active, I try to; I seek help; and as much as possible, if I can, be a moral support to someone that needs help too.

When going through tough times, remember to be in the right mindset and emotional state and be with worthy individuals who would gladly stick around, it will not take long before you figure out a way to overcome whatever situation you’re in.

While that being said as it is also very timely that Dubai further eased its Covid-19 restrictions, we were able to visit and stroll around JBR Residences in Dubai Marina.

I remember when I used to work in a design firm where most of the high-rise project’s concept are the likes of the above photos. The mishmash of traditional Moorish-inspired architecture and contemporary design is always daring and historically noble.

Moving on, we had the opportunity to book a 3-day hotel stay at JA Ocean View. Here are some photos I snapped during our stay.

If I’m not mistaken, these are sculptural glass lighting in the main lobby. By the way, that's me and opted to wear gym clothing because after the check-in I went straight to the gym (with proper training shoes on, of course).

Some streamlined consoles with accessories are scattered around hallways. The 3rd photo caught my attention as I wasn’t sure if the backlighting is a natural light (perhaps a window at the back) nonetheless the woodwork design is eye-catching.

The hotel room's cream-colored vanity stool is a well-made pleaser and can be used as a decorative seating as well.

So there, we definitely enjoyed the stress-free time but carried out physical distancing, and sanitation. As I've said, remember to be in the right mindset and be with trusted people. And do not forget to follow rules governed by the authority.
