How's Life Treating You?

Just this morning, I casually asked myself a question in front of the mirror: how’s life treating you, Dennis? After less than a minute, I saw a deformation of the bone structure of my face – that’s fantastical. More mysterious enough, however, I saw a strange face – the other face which I found weird and astonishing, uhm.

Technically, we are part of the world that doesn’t act upon our existence, you know what I mean? I’m like a person on a boat floating down the river, but because I know how to row into a specific direction, I sometimes have the misapprehension of control. Yes, I’m in control of my life given all the bad choices that I could have prevented. But hey, I recognized that I need to act quickly, rather than drag my life into a mess. This just proves, the river current wins through. Meaning, the world affects who we are, who I am, because I like to be in control. So the lesson: don’t keep on controlling things if, rationally, it’s never going to be successful, thus let go and be in the flow. Besides, and unfortunately, making bad decisions is a part of life: no one has a 100% success rate.

So, how’s life treating me? Well, my strange face – the other weird and astonishing face, I mean, says fine to myself, thoughtless.
By the way, speaking of fine, I had the chance to visit one of the finest hotel residences in Dubai: The Address Sky View Towers. We conducted a meeting and a site visit at some floors of the hotel because of our on-going design project with them. But before all that, I was able to take out my phone and did some snaps of the luxurious place.

This is the waiting area. But what I like is the reflection of the lighting coming from the drop off area.

I can imagine this space at night. I’d like this ceiling in my bedroom though.

And then you will be greeted by this sharp diamond-shaped crystal chandelier upon entering.

This is one of the few interesting accessories displayed in the hotel. I would have taken more of the others but we were in a hurry not to be late to our appointment.

If I’m not mistaken, this photo is at the main hotel lobby/reception. Anyway, the wide swirl chandelier is the money shot.
I’ve got tons of quick shots that I posted on my Instagram account at @DopeCeiling. Shall I see you there?
