A quick amusing blog a month ago when we were at the Starbucks at 2 am in the Philippines to get 4 big cups of refresher. That was the time after we landed from our Bangkok trip. The barista then politely asked me if I collect “stickers”. I replied, “What are these stickers for?” Well the barista explained that a reward is up for grabs once you collected 19 stickers for every purchase. To be totally honest, I know the coffee shop has been giving a planner for heaven knows how long, I just thought of maybe something else more interesting than a fancy-looking thingy so I just simply said, “nope” — because I don’t go to Starbucks often anyway and I was traveling back to the UAE in a week or so. Even so, I was not surprised to see from my peripheral vision the ladies giving me that look. And by “that”, I mean it’s sort of like a regretting look because I thought 4 stickers are a lot to pass. Well, my only “regret” today is that I could’ve let them take the stickers instead, if it’s allowed, because a good percentage of people queueing on that very day were for sure aiming to complete for the planner the soonest. Tee-hee.
Just before we arrived, I screeched, “Yes, we’re at the beach!”
“Wait, what?” Marclee chimed.
“Beach, we’re at the beach.” I then said again.
It’s beeech. Not THAT beach.” He insisted.
“Ok, Mr. 10-year old smarty-pants, we’re at the beach, not THAT beach.” I replied chuckling.
It’s just a quick staycation because we’ll be back in Dubai tomorrow after lunch. And to that, we have got to seize the day and night, the food, every recollection in between and the pool hereafter should be just fine. It’s going to be essentially flawless until tomorrow!
