Ok, 2023 is a halfway, turning points, a few stalled progress but probably the best year of my life. I got several people asking me how I accomplished so much the past year. But to me, baby steps are already an accomplishment by itself. Over the years, I have been surrounded by accomplished friends and supportive family helping me to refine and achieve the things I thought impossible. My friends don’t know that I like to observe what they are doing, people in general including my workmates actually, and then learn and apply it to my own journey.
Above photo is by the way a journey to Jerusalem, July of 2023.
Right now, I thought of revealing three of so many strategies and learnings that I think helped me and still would want to develop more this 2024.
1. Write down the things you wanted to accomplish.
Well, if you weren’t able to achieve something, you can also write it down and the reason why it wasn’t a success. There’s always another year to start fresh though.
2. Read up on your own industry.
It is important to stay in the know, as simple as that. At work, if you have the free time, try to study old, current and incoming projects to allow you keep up with possible trends (and failures, too) in the future.
3. Surround yourself with optimistic people.
I always like to be with my closest companion who are genuinely happy, proud and excited because this will certainly rub off on you. I don’t want to be surrounded by people who complains about workload or personal life because definitely I will not going to feel good about myself too and that’s not healthy.
Success is a journey in my own right. I’m always learning. I get excited about new things. I can’t be shrugging all the time by things I cannot fathom thus procrastination is really not my tea especially work-related things. I have to admit, negative self-talk is always a challenge when I fail but consistent progress is key. Mental toughness is key. Faith is key.
Personally, diet and exercise are always a priority. And oh, part of the priority is to travel more too!
On that note, we can always set ourselves up for success to thrive at any circumstance even if 2023 is almost over as Christmas and New Year celebrations are just a few days away. And to that, allow me to gleam, what a year 2023 has been!
